The Kurdistan Region Presidency (KRP) announced the launch of the KRP.org website on 22 April, coinciding with the 110th anniversary of the publication of the first Kurdish newspaper. KRP.org will be the main source of information about the activities of the KRP, including all official statements and press releases.

Through the website and its contact section, we hope to provide a direct communication channel between the KRP and the people of the Kurdistan Region, the Kurdish Diaspora, the people of Iraq as a whole and anyone interested in developments in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

The website will seek to reflect an accurate picture of the political, economic and social situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. By publishing accurate and verified data on education, health, trade, environment and legislation etc, KRP.org will be a reliable reference for journalists, academics and researchers.

We also aim to reach out to people in different parts of the world, especially in neighbouring countries. We plan to make the KRP.org website even more multilingual in the future by adding content in the Persian and Turkish languages. The Kurmanji dialect of Kurdish, which uses Latin script, will also be added.

The website will make it easier for us to interact with the rest of the world, especially with foreign journalists and others interested in the Kurdistan Region. Questions and queries can be sent to the KRP using the official email address, diwan(at)krp.org

We congratulate Kurdish journalism on its 110th anniversary, and we congratulate the people of Kurdistan on this and their many other achievements.
